In 1987, I made my first trip up into the Napa Valley, having just moved to the Bay Area. My first stop was at a very small winery called "Peju". We were greeted by the owner, Tony, on crutches, who despite his broken foot, took us on a tour of his winery and property, and also helped introduce this then "newbie" to the wonderful world of wines. Over the years my gifts from Peju have graced many tables, and to a person, the reaction is always the same: this may be the best wine I have ever tasted. Thanks to Tony's knowledge and generosity, I have met and become friends with many vineyard owners in the North Counties.

You would be missing the best if you did not stop by Peju Winery, both from the vine, and from the heart of the Peju Family.
